Israel’s Return

The Jewish people continue to exist, despite all the persecution of Jews over the centuries, culminating in the slaughter of 6 million Jews in Europe in the Holocaust. God remains faithful to His promises. And not only that. Despite the fact that Israel does not yet serve Him as a whole, He returns His people to their country.

God elects to restore His people to the land despite the absence of national repentance. He does so because of His Holy Name. In that process, God will cleanse them and give them a new heart and spirit. Then Israel will remember their sinful ways and be penitent about their deeds. In that time, God will repair the land to become, once more, like the Garden of Eden. Then all will see that the God of Israel is a great God.

‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: On the day I cleanse you from all your sins, I will resettle your towns, and the ruins will be rebuilt. The desolate land will be cultivated instead of lying desolate in the sight of all who pass through it. They will say, “This land that was laid waste has become like the garden of Eden; the cities that were lying in ruins, desolate and destroyed, are now fortified and inhabited.” Then the nations around you that remain will know that I the Lord have rebuilt what was destroyed and have replanted what was desolate. I the Lord have spoken, and I will do it.’ Ezekiel 36:33-36
