End Time Revival: Ruth Hearts, Ruth Nations – An Awakening

March 10, 2017

Ruth clung to Naomi, saying:

“Entreat me not to leave you, or to turn back from following after you; where you go, I will go…” (Ruth 1:14-16)

“In those days ten men from every language of the nations shall cling to the sleeve of a Jewish man, saying, ‘Let us go with you, for we have heard that God is with you.’” – Zechariah 8:23

Swathes of expectant Evangelicals are waiting to see—originating in their nations and sweeping all the way to Jerusalem to herald a coming King—
a great End Times revival.

But what if the groundwork for that revival is already being laid? What if its first signs have been evident, have been coming sharply into focus, for quite some time?

What if these Christians are not looking in the right direction? Unless they are, it could take them completely unawares; even pass them by.

Have they considered that this revival may go, not from their nations, but rather—as blessing does—to their nations, out of Israel?

Do they at all comprehend that the power source for this last great move of God—into which we need to be plugged if we are to be a part of it—is God’s heart for Israel, His zeal for Zion above all other nations, His restoration purposes for this nation, and His plans to bless all mankind through her?

The priming site for the ignition of this ‘End Time’ revival is in the hearts of those few who, like Ruth, choose to cling to the Jewish people. And lands in which this fire will take and through which it will sweep are the remnant of Ruth nations that repudiate an anti-Israel stance in these last days.

There is always a remnant.

In Paris on January 15 this year, 70 nations (which number is Biblically representative of ‘all the nations’) signed an anti-Israel agreement recognising a State of Palestine in the heart of the Land of Israel.

This followed hard on the heels of a December 23, 2016 UNSC resolution (2334) asserting that Judea, Samaria and half of Jerusalem now IS de facto “occupied Palestinian territory”.

In the spawning and passage of this double-barrelled enterprise, individual nations (New Zealand, France) and an expiring US administration (Obama, Kerry) feverishly intensified efforts to force Israel’s hand, to coercively push the two-state process ahead.

It is Zechariah 12:3 in living expression.

Yet there is always a remnant. There is room for nations to be sheep nations.

Thus we also witnessed Australia’s government, the US Congress and the Czech Republic’s lower parliament condemn Resolution 2334, whilst Australia and the United Kingdom refused to sign the Paris statement.

And God’s response to the nations? Do we Evangelicals comprehend what we’re seeing?

After a long, long campaign, a Jehu has been appointed to the White House.

His election was foreseen – and prayed into – for years.

Jehu?

According to 1 Kings 19:16-17, God sent Elijah—deeply dejected by Israel’s seemingly irreversible apostasy—to anoint Jehu the son of Nimshi to be the one who would halt the kingdom’s slide into godlessness by wiping out the legacy of Ahab.

In Israel, four years ago, a Christian recently described by a quietly admiring Prime Minister Netanyahu as “the Patriarch” of Christian Zionists, and who has long been troubled by the state of America’s soul—specifically regarding its deteriorating relationship with Israel—felt directed to pray for the election of a president who would act in the way of Jehu.

Two years ago, he began to pray explicitly for Donald Trump to be brought into that position and, before the billionaire had announced that he would run, this man began to proclaim his conviction that God had destined Mr Trump to be the next President of the United States.

Immediately after this President took the oath (seven days before this writing) he moved to begin obliterating the legacy left by the eight years of governance that preceded his.

In regard to Israel, just what is it that this ‘Jehu’, with a team well-seeded with staunchly pro-Israel advisors and administrators, has committed to do?

What is the single most obvious and visible political symbol of solidarity with Israel, and her claims to the land, that would make Israel’s enemies white-hot with rage?

The answer is: Moving the embassy of the United States to Jerusalem—the designated capital of the Jewish state, thereby recognizing the Holy City as capital of the Jewish people.

Mahmoud Abbas appreciates the significance of this. Thus did the PLO chief, on the day before the Paris conference, ponderously step into some symbolism of his own, meeting with the pope in Vatican City to officiate at the opening of a ‘Palestinian’ embassy in rented rooms. Even as he unfurled the flag of a nation that is not a nation, this fraudulent ‘president’ unrolled his usual stream of land-lies for consumption by a willingly-led press.

Israel, he accused, was “turning Jerusalem into an exclusive Jewish/Israeli city, demolishing Palestinian homes, expanding illegal settlements, building an illegal Annexation Wall, dividing families, and isolating our occupied capital from the rest of Palestine.”

And, addressing talk of moving the US embassy to Jerusalem, he decried “any attempts at legitimizing the illegal Israeli annexation of the city”.

It was 36 years ago, when the UNSC voted its rejection of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and called on member states to repudiate the Jewish claim, that—in an act of solidarity with the Jews —the above-referenced “Patriarch” of Christian Zionism led the establishment of the International Christian Embassy Jerusalem.

On opening its doors in the presence of Israeli political, civil and religious dignitaries, the ICEJ pledged its commitment to work tirelessly for the unification of Jerusalem and of the land of Israel.

Can it truly be, after nearly 40 decades of global rejection of this most basic of rights of the nation of Israel, that a breakthrough is finally in sight?

Looking around to see who else, apart from Australia, is reaching to take hold of Israel’s sleeve and say, “Let us go with you, for we have heard that God is with you,” we see parliamentarians in Canada, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands and the Ukraine calling for their governments to move their embassies to the City of the great King.

And then there are other small nations like Micronesia, Papua New Guinea, Fiji and Vanuatu that stand poised, ready to follow these examples and relocate their missions to Jerusalem.

Which begs the question: Is it possible that, in these last days, we are witnessing God building an alliance of Ruth nations to stand with Israel, symbolically and significantly in the first instance by relocating their embassies to Jerusalem and flying the flags of their nations alongside the Star of David?

Now the Lord had said to Abram:

“I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you; and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” – Genesis 12:1,3

“The sons of foreigners shall build up your walls, and their kings [read presidents/prime ministers] shall minister to you … For the nation and kingdom which will not serve you shall perish, and those nations shall be utterly ruined.” – Isaiah 60:10,12
