Anti-Israelism, Zionism, Semitism, in the Christian Church Today

In the last edition I brought an article on why it’s so important Christians for Israel and other Israeli support organizations, bring a message to the church regarding Israel and the End-Times.

Consequently, I have felt to continue the theme of what is happening in our society and the underlying reasons for it—particularly how this is affecting the Christian church.

It is a curious and fearful thing that Anti-Semetism, Anti-Israelism and Anti-Zionism are so evident in our societies today. I firmly believe that this trend, which also effects much of the Christian Church today is demonic in origin having been perpetrated originally by Satan with the express purpose of nullifying God’s Word. The prophetic scriptures that many of us hold so dear have been derided, bent and twisted for one underlying reason, Satan knows that his time is short and his ultimate aim is to undermine and discredit God’s Word and in doing so, His Holy Name.

Did not the God of the whole earth say…

“Therefore say to the house of Israel, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD: “I do not do this for your sake, O house of Israel, but for My holy name’s sake, which you have profaned among the nations wherever you went. And I will sanctify My great name, which has been profaned among the nations, which you have profaned in their midst; and the nations shall know that I am the LORD,” says the Lord GOD, “when I am hallowed in you before their eyes. For I will take you from among the nations, gather you out of all countries, and bring you into your own land…’”
–Ezekiel 36:22-24.

What can we learn from this passage of Scripture?

  1. God’s Holy Name is at stake and it involves the Nation, Israel.
  2. Israel did profane His name through unbelief, disobedience and dispersion.
  3. God is determined that His Holy Name is to be sanctified in the eyes of all.
  4. Israel needs to sanctify God’s Holy Name first, as a nation.
  5. God will and is bringing them back to the Land.
  6. by these actions, the whole world will see that YHWH is truly the Lord.

Those who would oppose the understanding God has brought Israel back to their own land in these last days (Anti-Zionism) and have taught that the church has replaced Israel (Replacement Theology), and God is no longer concerned for the nation of Israel and the Jewish people (Anti-Semetism), need to consider that in doing so, they may be directly opposing God’s will and helping to accomplish the purposes of the ‘arch deceiver’ in doing so.

Please consider the following:

‘Now the LORD had said to Abram: “Get out of your country, From your family And from your father’s house, To a land that I will show you.  I will make you a great nation; I will bless you And make your name great; And you shall be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”’ – Genesis 12:1-3.

This Scripture clearly indicates God ‘birthed’ the nation of Israel, that blessing Israel would be a blessing and cursing her, as many (including the UN) are doing today, will bring a curse on themselves, and consequently Israel’s presence among the nations and the coming forth of the Messiah through her would provide the ultimate blessing in redemption being available to all mankind.

Those who support this solution… will clearly have God to answer to

God has not given up on Israel as a nation and a distinct people whom He has blessed and been dealing with now for more than 4000 years since the time of Abraham. He is the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. He has never rescinded the covenant promise of Israel’s possession of the land of Israel.

“Also I give to you and your descendants after you the land in which you are a stranger, all the land of Canaan, as an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.” – Genesis 17:8

Subscribing to the ‘Two State Solution’ is in direct opposition to God’s will.

“For behold, in those days and at that time, When I bring back the captives of Judah and Jerusalem, I will also gather all nations, and bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat; and I will enter into judgment with them there on account of My people, My heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations; they have also divided up My land. They have cast lots for My people, have given a boy as payment for a harlot, And sold a girl for wine, that they may drink.” – Joel 3:1-3

Those who support this solution to the current standoff in the Middle East concerning the Nation of Israel and the Palestinian Arabs, will clearly have God to answer to.

The British Mandate Period

When the mandate of Palestinian granted the original allotment of land to the Jewish people it included Trans-Jordan, later known as the Kingdom of Jordan.

‘The San Remo Resolution of 1920 recognized the exclusive national Jewish rights to the Land of Israel under international law, on the strength of the historical connection of the Jewish people to the territory previously known as Palestine.’ (See Figure 1)

After this it was divided into two sections by the British leaving approximately 23% of the original homeland for the Jewish people in Jordanian/Palestinian Arab hands.

‘The outcome of the declaration gave birth to the “Mandate for Palestine,” an historical League of Nations document that laid down the Jewish legal right to settle anywhere in western Palestine, a 10,000 square-miles the area between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea…’ (See Figure 2)

Jordan is the Palestinian homeland, which for political reasons has been denied them, not the ‘Mountains of Israel’ which includes Samaria and Judea, which is now erroneously called ‘The West Bank’. Why would any Bible believing Christian (or Jew) support such a ‘solution’.

When President Trump acknowledged what has been a fact for 3000+ years, that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel, the true intentions of the Palestinians and many in the Arab world were exposed.

It is evident that that they don’t want peace with Israel, but to see Israel out of the Middle East altogether and to claim Jerusalem for themselves. Israel is very fortunate to have a Prime Minister in Binyamin Netanyahu who understands this, and the prophetic Biblical Heritage that Israel has been granted by God.

Replacement Theology

When the Scriptures refers to Israel whether Old or New Testament, the message is clearly about the Nation of Israel. When the Scriptures refers to the Church or the Body of Christ (Messiah), then that is clearly what He means.

God is not confusing Israel and the Church, we are!

Paul clearly refers to Israel, also generically referred to as the Jewish people, when he speaks of his own heritage in Romans 11…

“I say then, has God cast away His people? Certainly not! For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin. God has not cast away His people whom He foreknew…. For if the firstfruit is holy, the lump is also holy; and if the root is holy, so are the branches. And if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive tree, were grafted in among them, and with them became a partaker of the root and fatness of the olive tree, 18  do not boast against the branches. But if you do boast, remember that you do not support the root, but the root supports you… Concerning the gospel they are enemies for your sake, but concerning the election they are beloved for the sake of the fathers.  For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.“

Certainly, Paul the Apostle did not confuse Israel and the church either!

We who may deny Israel, the nation and the Jewish people generally, their rightful, prophetic and Godly inheritance are without excuse!
